Modern pharmaceutical products and vaccines have revolutionized health care, yet budget constraints and poor infrastructure have prevented hundreds of millions of people in developing countries from accessing even basic essential drugs. Millions of adults and children die each year from diseases that could have been prevented or treated if effective and affordable vaccines and drugs had been available and used properly.

Improving Health Worldwide through Enhancing Access to and Improving Use of Essential Medicines and Other Health Care Products
